Doug began his career in 1986 on the radio in the San Francisco Bay Area and started his mobile DJ business in 1988.  In California, Doug worked on over 25 stations, including six years as morning sidekick “Jungle Doug” on 95.3 KRTY Hot Country/San Jose, mid-day personality on the adult contemporary KKIS/Concord, and traffic rapper “Doug EEE Fresh” on the urban KSOL/San Francisco.   In 1998, Doug moved to Tennessee for 3 years as host on the “Doug & Connie”and “Doug & Karla” morning shows on WAY FM.  

In 2001, Doug moved to 94FM The Fish and was on the air there from the station’s first morning right up to the station’s final broadcast day April 30, 2024 when the parent company sold the radio station. In July 2024 Doug moved to the #1 station in Nashville and is currently the host of the highly rated night show “Real Life with Doug” 7pm-Midnight on MIX 92.9

Long Distance Dedications!

Doug Griffin is proud to offer a Long Distance Dedication service to help bridge the gap between you & your family/friends who live too far away to physically attend your event. With the “L.D.D.” service, anyone can “attend” your event from anywhere in the world. All they need to do is call in and leave their message on my voicemail: 615-294-DOUG (3684), or provide me their name, phone number, & best time to call and I’ll take care of the rest. Their comments, wishes, poems, song dedications, or whatever they want to say will be recorded & professionally mixed with background music & sound effects, then played back throughout your event. After the event, you keep a CD copy of all the calls. L.D.D. is a free service, up to the first ten calls.

A: Prior to the event, or even before you decide to hire me I will arrange a personal meeting with you. We will sit down and discuss all aspects of your event including; demographics of the guests, requests, tempo, and special announcements. I will do everything I can to make sure your event is a success. My philosophy is that no one came to see the DJ, however your entertainment is key to the success of your event. My experience, personality and knowledge will make your event – one to remember.

A: It usually takes 20-30 minutes to set up for an event. You are never charged for set up or travel time. I arrive at least one hour prior to the contracted time to begin setting up. Should you need me to set up more than one hour prior to my contracted start time, a nominal hourly fee could apply.

A: I play all of your favorites, pulling from my vast personal music collection and accounts with Spotify, ITunes and YouTube.  If it’s available I will get it.  However, in the case of some foreign language songs, you might need to bring along a CD or email me the mp3.  If you have a Spotify account you can create a playlist and share it with me.  My Spotify ID is “kdugfm”.

A: YES, YES, YES!!! That’s the bottom line. I am here to serve you, and to entertain you and your guests.

A: General age of guest, types of music desired (rap, top 40, country, big band, etc.), types of music you don’t want played, special songs or announcements, contests or door prizes, how active you want the DJ? (master of ceremonies, make a few announcements, just play music).

I want you to feel as comfortable as possible with your DJ selection, so I am always ready to meet in person to discuss details before the contract is signed.
